Hi All,
Our mediacentre setup is composed of Raspberry PI3, Piano DAC 2.1 and two Volt amp+ amplifiers. We need to have a fully functional 2.1 channel audio station. We have tried two different os’s namely the volumio OS and OSMC.
Firstly for the volumio OS we have followed all the necessary steps and finally got the setup working. But the audio from subLEFT/subRIGHT channels were barely audible(low gain). Even after trying different cut off values the audio remained the same. After that we have installed OSMC os. This time the audio from subLEFT/subRIGHT were the same as LEFT/RIGHT channels. We have used different configurations and cutoff values to no avail.
We tried the firmware bin files provided in the github page (https://github.com/allocom/piano-firmware). It didn’t work. We saw some users creating firmware files for different dsp configurations based on a manual (https://www.allo.com/documents/sparky/Piano-DAC-Purepath-Process-Flow.pdf). Is it a necessity to manually use the bin files? Can you please tell the proper way make the setup(2.1) work with OSMC os?
Thanks and Regards.

Dear Anand,
Currently Piano 2.1 is not supported in OSMC. You can use volumio or max2play image.
If your are using max2play you need to change sub woofer volume in alsamixer.

Hello,
Can you please tell me how to increase the subWoofer gain in Volumio OS? Also we need a mediacenter that is capable of playing video as well. Will OpenELEC be compatible with pianoDAC 2.1?
Also if pianoDAC 2.1 is not compatible with OSMC, kindly remove it from the list of supported OS's(https://www.allo.com/sparky/piano-dac-2-1.html).

Dear Anand,
On Volumio, if the volume is changed in the GUI, it changes both digital & subwoofer volumes together. You can verify using alsamixer cmd.
We are working on OSMC to support Piano 2.1 DAC, will be available in a weeks time.
