I can't imagine I am the only one facing the issue of having digital loud pops/cracks when switching sample rates for instance. Is there a way to mute the dac chip from kali reclocker?

KALI RECLOCKER / Re: RPI+ISOLATOR+KALI Connections?

Hi,

You need to give power supply for RPI and KALI board. No need to connect battery or power supply to the isolator board.

I already had a working raspberry pi -> Allo Kali Reclocker -> I2S DAC in slave mode

I just received my ISOLATOR , MCLK, BCLK and FCLK are there, but no i2s data signal coming out on pin 40 of the isolator.

I have isolator configured in slave mode.

Any idea on why there is no data signal?

Edit: I just figured it out, needed to place the jumper on the reclocker board in order to let the powered reclocker board feed power to the isolator.

Hi,

Is there a signal from the Kali reclocker board that I can use to connect to the mute pin of my dac chip in order to avoid cracks in between tracks/albums?

Thanks.

Ronald

KALI RECLOCKER / Loud digital crack when switching between albums
« on: May 09, 2017, 01:42:52 AM »
I am happy with my Allo Kali board, it's working well and sounding good :-)

However I do have one issue, when switching between albums there is this loud digital crack, which I am afraid might damage my expensive tweeters. It does not happen when skipping to the next track within the same album. Can this be an issue of the Allo Kali board? It does not seem to happen on a second (simpler) streamer I made using Pi/hifiberry DAC.

I am using picoreplayer (squeezelite and LMS). And the I2S output of the Allo Kali board is connected to a AK4396 DAC chip with short leads (< 6 cm).
